FINDING AN OLD FRIEND

My name is Veronica Mavin (nee Dougal)

I am a member of Folkestone Riding Club in the U.K. As a child I lived in N.Z. and would like to find an old school friend. We went to Dio in Auckland together from about 1956-1959 and when I came back to England, we both started riding! Her name is Robyn Hughes (that was her maiden name).

If anyone knows her could they pass my e-mail address on to her, I would love to make contact again. Or anyone else that remembers me for that matter!

Previously based in the UK running my own stables, I'm now working around the Auckland area. I have studied a variety of horsemanship skills, including horse whispering and more traditional methods, I feel I offer a combined quality around the horse.

If you yourself or you know of anyone within the Auckland area needing help with anything from basic extra hands, to exercising, re-schooling, grooming or solutions to problems with a "difficult" horse, i.e. loading or catching difficulties, any riding issues or fears, right through to basic grumpiness! For the recreational rider who wants to have fun but be challenged, a place to come away on holiday with their horse that has good safe facilities. Catering for groups or individuals, the property is open for riding October to end of April

The cross country course ranges from pre-training to pre-novice.

The renovated woolshed has 4 showers, 4 toilets, kitchen with open plan living.

Folk staying need to bring their bedding/stretchers/bed rolls but we can sleep 5 people on built in seating plus we have couple of fold up beds.

Horse facilities are 14 pipe yards, 9 loose boxes and small over night paddocks.

Cross country course : $15 per horse per day

Staying overnight: $11.25 per person

Horse overnight: $6.00 per horse

We want to cater for the partner who isn't into equestrain pursuits so we are able to offer mountain bike tracks or tramping.
